2. General information on data processing

As a matter of principle, we process our users’ personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website and our content and services. Each processing operation is based on one of the legal bases listed in section 3 – that is, your consent, the initiation or performance of a contract, or our legitimate interest. The legal basis that applies in each case is stated in the following sections.

3. Legal bases

Where we obtain consent for processing operations involving personal data, Art. 6(1)(a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR; in German: Datenschutz-Grundverordnung, DSGVO) serves as the legal basis.

Where the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

For processing operations necessary for the purposes of a legitimate interest pursued by our company, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR serves as the legal basis, provided that such interests are not overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject.

4. Hosting

This website is hosted by Power-Netz (power-netz.de). When you visit our website, your personal data (e.g. your IP address) is processed on Power-Netz’s servers. The servers are located in Germany.

We use Power-Netz on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in presenting our website reliably and securely.

For further information, please see the Power-Netz privacy policy (German) (opens in a new tab).

5. Server log files

Each time our website is accessed, the hosting provider automatically collects information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. This comprises:

  • IP address of the requesting computer
  • Date and time of the request
  • Time zone difference from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Content of the request (specific page)
  • Access status/HTTP status code
  • Amount of data transferred
  • Referrer URL (previously visited page)
  • Browser and operating system used
  • Language and version of the browser software

This data is not combined with other data sources. This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website.

6. SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser’s address bar changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock icon in your browser bar.

When SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

7. Contacting us by email

If you contact us by email, the information you provide, including the contact details you give, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent.

The data contained in your email is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or for the purpose of taking steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

The data you send us by email will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods under tax and commercial law – remain unaffected.

8. Enquiry forms

On certain subpages of our website (e.g. under /omr/artikel/...) we provide enquiry forms through which you can request information about our products without obligation. The data entered in the form – depending on the product category, for example company, first and last name, email address, phone number, product selection, desired quantity and delivery date – is used exclusively to process your enquiry and to answer any follow-up questions.

The data is transmitted in encrypted form via HTTPS. It is processed on our server in Germany and delivered to us by email. It is not passed on to third parties.

The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract) and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), which you give by ticking the privacy confirmation box. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example by email to wizard@wizard-hamburg.de.

Mandatory fields are marked as such in the form. To protect against automated spam submissions, we use a technical honeypot method – no additional personal data is collected in the process.

The data remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent, or the purpose of storage no longer applies. Mandatory statutory retention obligations – in particular under tax and commercial law – remain unaffected.

9. Newsletter

If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on our website, a sign-up form from our service provider is loaded via a button. Data is transmitted to the service provider only after you click the newsletter button.

We use the rapidmail service (Positive Group Deutschland GmbH, Ingeborg-Krummer-Schroth-Straße 18a, 79106 Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany) to send our newsletter. rapidmail is a service that can be used to organise and analyse the sending of newsletters.

The data you enter for the purpose of receiving the newsletter (e.g. your email address) is stored on rapidmail’s servers.

Newsletter subscription uses the so-called double opt-in procedure. After signing up, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can sign up using someone else’s email address.

The data is processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing already carried out.

For further information, please see the rapidmail privacy policy (German) (opens in a new tab).
