At Pride, we champion the diversity of our city
We are proud to be a true Hamburg company. And we are proud of our city. Not because of the harbour, the Reeperbahn or the “Michel”, though – but because of the many different people who love living here.
We want to support this diversity in our own way. That’s why, for Hamburg Pride (CSD), we sponsor “Startschuss – Queerer Sportverein Hamburg e.V.”, the city’s queer sports club, with exclusively designed T-shirts made in-house.
Making a joint statement for queer sport in Hamburg and bringing the club even more enthusiastic, active members: that’s the goal.
And we’re confident it will work. The atmosphere in the club is already fantastic – thanks to a range of sports and activities almost as diverse as its members.
Diversity is like sport: you need a good team to get ahead. And with WIZARD, we have one.
When rock needs a sales amplifier
How the culture scene hit back at Covid
For years, RockCity e.V. has championed musicians, helping them gain a foothold in the music scene and make a living from their art.
But with Covid, applause & stage diving came to an abrupt end for many of them. Every venue in lockdown, the audience at home in front of their screens. Luckily, good advice wasn’t expensive this time … it was free!
Because we at Wizard love music and live gigs, too.
So it went without saying that we picked up the phone and hatched a plan with RockCity for how artists could still get paid without playing live.
Our positive experience working with the Knust gave the project wings, and in no time at all we had a supporter web shop up and running for RockCity, too. Well-known bands such as Deichkind and many others contributed brilliant designs for sweatshirts, T-shirts & more – turning the shop into a digital amplifier for Hamburg’s music scene.
What a fine merch shop Wizard has created. Every purchase helps keep a piece of Hamburg’s music scene alive. It doesn’t get any better!

Made auf Veddel, not just Made in Germany
An inspiring project founded in 2008 by Hamburg fashion designer Sibilla Pavenstedt – in a district where a particularly large number of migrants have found a new home. Yet the women here in particular often have few career prospects.
What they don’t lack is outstanding craftsmanship – skills that played a far greater role in their countries of origin. In a studio created especially for them, the women can use their sewing, knitting and crochet skills to build an income of their own.
When the Federal Ministry commissioned WIZARD at the end of 2020 to produce high-quality Covid face masks, one thing was immediately clear to us:
Our masks would not just be Made in Germany – they would be “Made auf Veddel”.
Because especially in difficult times like these, it matters to us to stay true to ourselves – and to deliver not only first-class products, but also support for our city and the wonderful people who live here.
It makes us and our team proud and happy that more and more people value their work.

Better health – for yourself and others
German Doctors have been working tirelessly for many years. Wherever in the world grief, illness and hunger become overwhelming, they bring hope, health and help. Of course, they rely on support from all of us – because medical aid is expensive, and their missions are demanding and dangerous. And yet: they are invaluable.
When glaring shortages of medical protective equipment at the start of the Covid crisis
brought their work to a standstill, we at Wizard – drawing on more than 30 years of experience in textiles – developed washable, and therefore reusable, gowns. With these and other protective items, we continue to support German Doctors in their work.
Together, we sell the Wizard Shares & German Doctors masks here in Germany through dm stores. For every mask sold, one is donated. And our fabric masks follow the same principle: 10 cents per mask goes directly to German Doctors.
We can tell that the people at WIZARD are passionate about our work – in conversation and through their generous support with protective equipment.
Venue closed – web shop opened
How to close a venue – and open up new possibilities
The Knust is much more than a music venue. It’s an institution, an original – Hamburg simply wouldn’t be the same without it.
When the Covid wave swept across Germany and the Knust, of course, had to close too, it was in deep water. Permanent closure loomed, because 100% of its income had vanished – but not its running costs.
For Wizard, one thing was immediately clear: the Knust must not close for good!
So we picked up the phone – and found a solution together: without further ado, we developed ideas for “Knust supporter merchandise” and opened an on-demand online shop. Thanks to a coordinated social media campaign, the active support of well-known bands such as Kettcar, and the passion of people in the neighbourhood and all over Germany, the shop became a runaway success – turning the threat of closure into the opening of entirely new possibilities.
It’s always wonderful to see that together you simply achieve more – and can even turn fear into opportunity.
Helping those who help others
Leading by shining example
Here in Hamburg, Leuchtfeuer e.V. volunteers care for seriously ill, dying and bereaved people.
Vital work that would not be possible without donations and charity sales – and work that we at Wizard are determined to support.
One way we do this is with face masks we produce ourselves, whose sale provides the charity with a reliable income.
But we also help in other ways – for example by drawing the attention of interested business partners like you to Leuchtfeuer e.V., and encouraging you to learn more about the topic, for instance through the magazine “mut.macher”, and to become a supporter yourself.

More and more customers are shopping more consciously. With textiles in particular, many want to know where the fibres come from and under what conditions they are processed. We want to give verifiable answers to those questions.
That’s why we rely on certifications rather than buzzwords: Wizard GmbH is GOTS-certified as a company, and we stock products that are GOTS-certified.
GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standard: The standard sets requirements for the proportion of organically produced natural fibres, as well as environmental and social criteria throughout processing.
This means you can trace the value chain via the certificate. Our certificate in the GOTS database (opens in a new tab)
Whatever colour you order from WIZARD – red, blue, beige or black – on request, we can print them all with GOTS-certified inks.
